Compliance with the Nationally Determined Contribution
The Implementation and Monitoring Plan for the achievement of the measures contemplated in Colombia's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) has involved 90 entities with specific responsibilities. It defines in detail what will be the actions, milestones and challenges associated with financing, information systems and capacity building of the 232 actions contained in the NDC.
The instrument has the following elements: coordination, management and governance; financing and resource management; specific sectoral and territorial action plans and schedules in the short, medium and long term to achieve the goals of mitigation and adaptation to climate change and means of implementation; knowledge management and information systems; and a monitoring and reporting scheme.
Colombia will disclose progress in the implementation of its climate commitments through the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR), whose first report, as established in the Paris Agreement, must be submitted no later than 2024, and thereafter on a biennial basis.
